ROYTON & CROMPTON SCHOOL PUPILS ACHIEVE BEST EVER RESULTS

This year’s GCSE results have been well received by Royton & Crompton School.

Headteacher Desmond Herlihy said, ‘We are very pleased with our GCSE results this year. 61% of our pupils achieved the benchmark figure for 5 GCSE grades A* - C, including English and maths and 80% of our pupils received 5 GCSE grades A*-C. These are outstanding results by any measure that accurately reflect the underlying message at Royton & Crompton School which is one of belief, hard work and a relentless pursuit to create a purposeful and orderly environment and a positive atmosphere for learning to encourage high levels of achievement’.

'There have been a number of outstanding individual performances, with one pupil achieving 6 A* and 4 A grades. A large number of pupils have also achieved way beyond their expectations, with one pupil achieving 4 A*, 1 A, 4 B and 2 C grades which was outstanding in this case. Congratulations to all our pupils and staff and thanks to parents and governors for their valued support’.

Chair of Governors, Cllr Diane Williamson said, “I’m absolutely delighted!  This is a fantastic achievement for us and it is a culmination of years of hard work to allow us to progress.  Thanks to all the staff and all the parents/carers for helping their children get these examination results."
