The curriculum element of Careers Education is delivered as part of the PSHEE (KS3) and PDC (KS4) programme.

In addition to the discreet Careers Education delivered through the curriculum, all pupils at Royton and Crompton have the opportunity to access impartial Careers Information, Advice and Guidance delivered in school by an independent and professionally qualified Career Adviser. Pupils in years 7 and 8 are able to drop in to publicised sessions, older pupils also benefit from this service, but in addition pupils with extra needs are targeted with more support.

The Career Adviser’s role is designed to ensure that all pupils are fully prepared for their post-16 transition and they provide the opportunity for pupils to fully explore potential career pathways and to investigate all the available options. The service is delivered via targeted group interventions, workshops or face-to-face meetings and all support is tailored to the specific needs, abilities and career aspirations of the individual pupil.
